Introducing Tracery Studios!

Welcome to 2023!

Hello and Welcome to the new site for Tracery Studios, formerly known as Tracery Events. It’s been quite the eventful few years, with Covid, an international move, and amazing projects around every corner! And that brings us to the here and now.

In 2016, I created Tracery Events to provide marketing and event support to tech startups in Europe. Contracts came quickly and consistently for the next two years, with many collaborations and projects in the works, from global conferences and roadshows to meetups and product launches. The marketing support portion of the company was growing quickly, with a focus on newsletters, social media, email campaigns and more. In 2019 one of our projects turned full time and Tracery Events was dedicated solely to that project.

Then Covid hit and family losses lead to a return to the United States, with a bit of a pause and regrouping. The world had shut down and with it face-to-face events. Fortunately, we had already delved into the world of virtual events in 2019, at a time when services and platforms were very limited. So with the global introduction of virtual events, new platforms were popping up and existing ones were improving their services. It didn’t take long before virtual events became the new norm, connecting us all in a different media and format. What a time of great learning, collaboration and camaraderie. The industry stepped up and made the best of a not so great situation.

2020 and 2021 really were years of introspection and reinvention. We found we were taking on new project types that we previously hadn’t had time for. More marketing, more digital campaigns, more virtual events. It was a time to re-learn how we reached the world and how our clients could stand out in their virtual offerings. It also allowed time to work on the projects we had been neglecting. Before we knew it, our world was expanding a bit faster than we had expected and we were no longer doing just events. New ideas were taking on a life of their own and it was exciting! And at the end of 2021, as Covid numbers were dropping, in-person events were coming out of lockdown, but attendees were understandably leery of large crowds. Large tech conferences that normally had 14,000+ attendees were seeing those numbers drop well below 5,000. Sponsors were pivoting their marketing and trade show presence in light of the lower numbers. But the shows went on and with success. They certainly weren’t the shows from years past, but visibility was still important and this initial return to live events seemed to focus on the reconnecting element of coming together. Tears, fist bumps, cautious hugs all celebrated what we had all missed so much.

Then 2022 rolled around and we all came out of our shells with renewed vigor and confidence that the world was looking a bit normal - as normal as could be anyway. Conference numbers were growing and global travel restrictions were being lifted. On a personal note, I was able to travel internationally and it felt so good to be at the airport, annoyances, delays and all.

So here we are today in 2023 and with all this growth and change, I decided it was time to change our name as well to broaden our offerings beyond events. We are now Tracery Studios - the umbrella to the many projects we have in the works. What’s happening, you ask? Check it out:

Tracery Studios will continue to offer marketing and event support for beginning to mid-stage tech startups who simply don’t have a functioning marketing and/or events team in place. From one-off projects to ongoing events, programs and projects, we're happy to assist where most needed.

All The Tech Things (AT3) - this project was born in 2016 to provide a home for tech conferences, CFP (call for papers), and job listings globally. It fell by the wayside during Covid, but has been renewed and is being populated daily. If you’re looking to attend a tech conference or speak at one, take a look at the directory.

A World Away - as an avid world traveler, I missed regular travel during the Covid years and am now creating a global directory of destination travel, including adventure travel and destination weddings. It’s designed to go off the beaten path to identify unique experiences both for weddings and adventure travel. On an interesting side note, I got my start in the wedding industry many, many years ago and eventually transitioned to corporate events and found my place in the tech world. But weddings will always be my first love, so I’m bringing a bit of it back. This launches in the Fall, so keep an eye out.

As always, with all of our projects, we love to collaborate on new and existing projects, so do reach out if you would like to work together.

As high priorities go, giving back is at the top of the list. More to come on this subject.

2023 is shaping up to be a fantastic year and I’m excited for all that is in store.

Thank you for being here and joining us on our journey! Looking forward to meeting you one day online, at a conference or meetup.

Warm Wishes & Happy Adventures,

Tammy Contreraz
